Ten Principles of Sauna

How to enjoy wellness to the fullest: 10 practical tips for a relaxing experience

  1. Give yourself time
For your body and mind to truly rest, set aside for wellness at least 90 minutes. Don't rush. Don't visit the sauna right after a meal, but don't go on an empty stomach either. If you feel slightly hungry, have a small snack – something light, which you can also buy right at our bar.
  2. Start with a shower
Before entering the sauna, wash yourself with soap and water. After the final cool-down, skip the soap – just rinse off. This allows your skin to breathe and regenerate better.
  3. Use both a sheet and a towel
We'll prepare a towel and sheet for you at reception. In the sauna, always place the sheet under your entire body – for hygiene and comfort. Sauna without a swimsuit so the heat can work on your whole body. The less you cover up, the better the sauna works.
  4. Respect your body
Everyone tolerates heat differently. If the tip of your nose or ears start to burn, it's time to leave the sauna. Don't be influenced by others – start slowly on the lower bench where the temperature is lower, and gradually work your way up. Stay in the sauna for about 10 minutes and gradually extend the time based on how you feel.
  5. Wipe sweat from your skin
As you sweat, regularly wipe it away – this helps your body flush out impurities and open pores. You can use a sponge or a soft brush.
  6. Cooling down is part of the relaxation
Cool down immediately after the sauna. In our wellness centre you have a choice – a classic bucket of water or an original cooling whirlpool. Always start with your extremities and work towards your heart. This helps your body adapt better to the change in temperature.
  7. Alternate heat and cold at least three times
After each cool-down, dry yourself thoroughly to encourage further sweating in the sauna. After the final cool-down, just rinse with water (no soap), wrap yourself in a towel and enjoy at least 20 minutes of rest in the relaxation zone.
  8. Avoid alcohol and cigarettes after saunaing
Your body is regenerating – alcohol and smoking could disrupt this process. Instead, prolong that pleasant feeling of relaxation and calm.
  9. Don't forget to drink
Staying hydrated is essential when saunaing. At our bar you can enjoy refreshing homemade lemonades, herbal teas or fruit juices – they'll replenish you pleasantly and support recovery.
  10. Give peace to yourself and others
People come to wellness to recharge, so try to be considerate. Speak quietly, don't disturb others, and let everyone rest at their own pace.
